Burn the Bird

BURN THE BIRD! A POST-THANKSGIVING TRADITIONFRIDAY, NOVEMBER 29 10:00 – 11:45 am$20After a long, strenuous day of food, family, friends, food, football, and food, there’s nothing better than a good sleep – and then getting up the next day and doing some yoga to help metabolize that Thanksgiving feast!
BURN THE BIRD is our post-Thanksgiving, Black Friday workshop for anyone wanting to shake off their holiday haze, find some calm in the midst of the chaos, or renew and recharge for the next round of Black Friday shopping. The workshop features about an hour of moderate flow followed by a series of restorative poses and a guided meditation.

Classic Hatha

Classic Hatha Yoga is a slower-paced, more traditional practice than our Flow classes. Detailed instructions on each pose are given, and poses are held for 5-7 breaths. Each class will also include time for meditation and breathwork (pranayama). 
 
Classic Hatha is the perfect class for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of poses, anatomy, and the wide variety of yoga practices beyond the poses. 
 
Suitable for yogis with at least 6 months strong practice. This is a perfect class for someone coming out of Yoga 101. 
 
Thursdays 5:30-6:45

Kalei’s Afternoon All-Level Flow

Kalei brings her fun and energizing all-level flow class to BYC! A great way to give yourself a little me-time to shed the day’s stress and recenter yourself.

High-Low Flow

High-Low Flow is another of our unique hybrid classes – the first half of class is a high-energy power flow similar to our Full-On Flow class, while the second half is an extended cool-down and relaxation session featuring fully supported restorative poses. 
 
High-Low Flow is always scheduled to follow Full-On Flow, so if you’re looking to really get your flow on come for both classes!
 
Because the first half of class is power flow, it’s not recommended for brand new beginners. Students with at least 6 months of solid practice are welcome. 
 
Monday 6:45 – 8:00 pm
Tuesday & Thursday 9:45 – 11:00 am

Full-On Flow

Full-On Flow is a fast-paced, high-energy flow class. With a variety of Sun Salutation variations, standing, and seated poses, this is a class that’s designed for you to get your stretch AND sweat on! 
 
And if that’s not enough for you, stick around for High/Low flow, following right after Full-On Flow – half the class is more flow fun, followed by an extended restorative session.
 
Because of the pace of Full-On Flow, it is not recommended for beginners.
 
Monday 5:30 – 6:30 pm
Tuesday & Thursday 8:30 – 9:30 am

Yoga 101

Yoga 101 is our ongoing class for beginners who are new to yoga, or anyone who wants to refresh their knowledge of the fundamentals of a good yoga practice.  Students will learn the basics of alignment and a wide variety of poses in addition to learning basic meditation and breathwork (pranayama).
 
Yoga 101 meets three times a week, so you can pick a time that works best for your schedule and be sure to receive personal attention to launch your yoga practice.
 
Our Gentle/Beginner’s Yoga class is also a great place to begin to put into practice the fundamentals from Yoga 101. 
 
Wednesday 10:00 – 11:00 am
Tuesday & Thursday 7:00 – 8:00 pm

Kalei’s Ongoing Flow Workshop

Kalei Carlson of Movement Matters Bodyworks (our neighbor, just down the hall from us at Norad Mill!) brings her deep skills and knowledge to this ongoing, all-level flow workshop at Berkshire Yoga Center!

Kalei’s Flow Workshop is a  great way to give yourself a little me-time to shed the day’s stress and recenter yourself, and to receive individual attention from a wonderful and knowledgeable teacher.

Tuesdays, 5:30 – 6:30 pm

Because this is a special, ongoing workshop, the drop-in price is $15, and price for BYC Members is $10

Mid-Day Power Flow

Mid-Day Power Flow is your reason to get up, out, and moving during lunchtime!
 
A fast-paced, high-energy hour of flow similar to our Full-On Flow, and is also a great chance to get your stretch AND sweat on!
 
Because of the pace of Full-On Flow, it is not recommended for beginners.
 
Monday – Thursday 1:00 – 2:00 pm

All Level Align-n-Flow

Our own unique blend of traditional vinyasa and hatha yoga, where periods of movement linked with the breath are skillfully interspersed with longer holds in key poses in order to encourage students’ deeper experience of the pose and the moment.
 
Emphasis on proper alignment in all poses with both the teaching of poses and corrections/adjustments offered.
 
Suitable for yogis who have practiced for at least six months.
 
Mornings: Tues – Fri 8:30-9:45
Evenings: Tues – Thur 6:30-7:45pm

The Weekend Stretch – Chill

The Weekend Stretch – Chill is the second session each weekend day, and presents the same basic sequence as the early Strong class, but at a slower, more relaxing tempo  with more opportunities to deepen the poses and receive instructions, corrections and adjustments.
 
Suitable for all levels of yogis.
 
Sat & Sun 10:30 – 11:45
